standing room revived
August 2021
Nestled in a difficult site between the Yarra River and train bridges, the Living Library functions almost like a public installation.
With ample seating both indoors and outdoors as well as multi-purpose rooms, this project reinterprets the form of a library in the modern day.
The space is designed to be accessible, welcoming, and operable in accordance with the climate. Big pivot doors and a raised courtyard let in natural elements to create a soft and comforting environment.
